One of the best rewards are the breath-taking views from the place we work everyday. This is our newest garden site that has been designed for a future greenhouse location. We are very excited to transform and expand. It is what we love and live to do!

Using a transit/level, we leveled the flat to prepare for the greenhouse. It all starts from the ground up. This will help ensure that all plants are receiving an even and equal amount of sunlight and provide easier access to each plant. Safety measures are important on the farm. Having nice flat land to work on helps keep our feet right where they need to be!

Due to the cost of county requirements and hold-ups on permits, we decided to fence off the flat and fill it with six-hundred and ten Roots Organics Formula 707 growing bags. By using the 707 bags we allow for more ease and mobility when transplanting. This soil will eventually be reused to fill more beds in the future and can be easily moved.
Inspired by our community, we evenly spaced our bags in the style of a vineyard. Uniformity can play an important role in producing an even yield and come in handy when identifying strains. Before transplanting we installed a drip irrigation system that delivers water to each individual bag. This helps with water conservation and feeding nutrients to the plants by allowing the water to drip slowly into the roots of the plants.
When transplanting baby clones in 105 degrees a shade cloth is a good idea. Transplanting in hot and sunny conditions can cause stress to the plants. To help them acclimate to their new environment, we drape a shade cloth over the patch from one end to the other. This makes the little ladies feel more comfortable to harden up for a couple of weeks before we remove the shade cloth.

One month later and growing strong! We are right on schedule and all is looking good. The plants sure are happy here on the flat soaking up the sun. Can you smell the Terps. These gals are feeding on about 14 hours per day of sunlight!

Alas, the sea of green! This shade of green is the perfect color we are looking for. It indicates healthy plants that are well-nourished.
